WHAT DO YOU DO?
Our basic mission is to provide equitable access to bikes for all.
WHY DO YOU DO IT?
To empower people with alternative transportation; also for the joy and fun of the biking experience. We also help to create a more sustainable environment by recycling discarded bikes.
WHAT IMPACT ARE YOU MAKING?
We are providing literally hundreds, if not thousands, of bikes per year to adults and children while recycling discarded used bikes. We also educate people concerning bike maintenance. To date we have received more than 4,000 hours of volunteer time, providing volunteers with the opportunity to make a positive impact on the community.
WHAT (OR WHO) INSPIRES YOU TO MAKE THIS IMPACT?
The volunteers and staff of the organization are a main source of inspiration. In addition, the people who could not otherwise afford bike who receive one.
WHAT’S YOUR BIG DREAM FOR THE ORGANIZATION AND THE IMPACT YOU WANT TO MAKE?
I would like to continue to expand the impact to other people – helping kids succeed through learning to work on bikes, starting drives to empower youth by biking to school and other places, and working with vulnerable populations to achieve the same success and empowerment. I’d also like to see fewer bikes being put in landfills or destroyed for recycled metal and would like to continue to recycle used parts from bikes.
WHAT RESOURCES DO YOU NEED TO MAKE THOSE DREAMS COME TRUE?
We need more funds and volunteers.

Like all nonprofits, funds.

Keep networking and doing the best job you can to deliver a superior service.
