WHAT DO YOU DO?
I am Founder/CEO of RISE Collaborative workspace which is both a curated community of ambitious women and a beautiful inspiring workspace for professional women.
WHY DO YOU DO IT?
I opened RISE Collaborative to give impressive women a place to build community, conduct business, and grow personally and professionally. Our mission is to create a pipeline of success for young women, increase women’s social capital, and help them level up their game with professional polish.
WHAT IMPACT ARE YOU MAKING?
At RISE Collaborative, we are changing women’s and girl’s lives on a daily basis – both on a professional and personal level. Because of technology, we are more connected than ever before, but we are actually quite disconnected and facing a loneliness epidemic. Humans are hardwired for connection, so we focus on building community, connections, and confidence. In addition, research shows that the number one predictor of success in business is social capital. The same research shows that women have access to less and different social capital. At RISE Collaborative, we are on a mission to change that for women.
WHAT (OR WHO) INSPIRES YOU TO MAKE THIS IMPACT?
We are inspired by the quotes, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” (Jim Rohn) and “You can’t be what you can’t see.”
WHAT’S YOUR BIG DREAM FOR THE ORGANIZATION AND THE IMPACT YOU WANT TO MAKE?
RISE Collaborative communities around the world and changing millions of lives.
WHAT RESOURCES DO YOU NEED TO MAKE THOSE DREAMS COME TRUE?
We need to raise capital, hire and attract more people, and find really great locations in new cities.
WHAT IS (OR HAS BEEN) YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE?
As a former educator with no business degree or background, it’s been a steep learning curve!
WHAT WORDS OF ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR OTHER LEADERS LOOKING TO MAKE AN IMPACT?
Most people when they hear “98% failure rate,” live in the 98. To make a huge impact in the world, you need to live in the 2% and believe that what you’re doing is possible. It’s also important to surround yourself with other people who operate that way.
