TELL US, WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU DO?
My name is Roman Krafczyk and I’m the CEO/President of Easter Seals Colorado. Our mission is to help individuals with disabilities live as independently as possible.
HOW DID YOU GET HERE?
I started as a volunteer for Rocky Mountain Village, the Easter Seals Colorado year-round camp and conference center. It was 1983 and I told them I was older than I was so I could work the summer. I worked for more than 12 summers and those summers shaped my life and career.
WHAT DO YOU STAND FOR? WHY IS THIS WORK IMPORTANT TO YOU?
We believe that all individuals deserve to live a full and rewarding life. We focus on recreation, rehabilitation, and employment to enhance the lives of those we serve.
WHAT IMPACT ARE YOU MAKING?
We have a robust employment program that allows individuals to find a career that is competitive and integrated.
WHAT (OR WHO) INSPIRES YOU TO DO THIS WORK?
Those individuals who overcome their disabilities and social barriers and work hard to succeed in a career and an independent living situation.
WHAT’S YOUR VISION, YOUR BIG DREAM FOR THE IMPACT YOU WANT TO MAKE?
To create an integrated community center that would offer living classes, theater, and employment training to all people.
WHAT CHALLENGES ARE YOU FACING?
Funding due to the pandemic.
